Olympic Cable intends to build up its reputation as a world class cable manufacturer in Malaysia. Quality development and more specifically, ISO 9002 quality management system certification, will improve the current system of operations in the company and enable it to achieve consistency in standards.

Olympic Cable recognizes that the development of ISO 9002 quality management system must involve top management. Thus, the development of Olympic Cable's quality management system was initiated, designed and overseen by top management. A Steering Committee was formed and chaired by the Chief Operating Officer who oversees the entire development process.

With the head start, Olympic Cable managed to obtain the certification in about 10 months, from the time it started compiling the documentation. The assessment was carried out in October 1998 and this led to a formal certification in December 1998.

Today, Quality is everyone's business in Olympic Cable. Everyone, from the top management to the worker at the factory, has to deliver quality work. Obtaining the ISO 9002 certification is an important milestone in the Company's achievements. It serves as a good motivation step for the effective implementation and operation of the quality management system. This is a prestigious recognition and will strengthen the company's competitiveness in the region.
